Ssl SIX CHANNEL 500

SSL's SiX Channel is a unique API 500-format mini channel strip that utilizes SSL's SiX console SuperAnalogue processing, including mic preamp, low and high frequency EQ, and one-knob compressor.

The SiX Channel is a simple way to add additional mic/line inputs to the line level inputs of any professional audio device, including the stereo channels of the SiX console. It's also a flexible way to create a professional modular mixer from a 500 series rack unit.

SuperAnalogue preamp input:
A wide-gain, ultra-low-noise SuperAnalog design provides line and mic input with a "Line" switch to cover a wide range of input levels. The nominal impedance of the line input is 10 kΩ. It can be changed to 1 MΩ using the Hi-Z switch. The 1 MΩ impedance makes this input suitable for very high impedance sources, such as passive guitar pickups, without the need for an external DI box.

- High-pass filter (HPF) 12 dB/oct, 75 Hz switchable
- Polarity switch (ø) to reverse the polarity of the XLR input at the back of the rack
- Five-segment LED meter shows output signal level in dBu


The EQ is a two-band, smooth, wide-travel design, with high and low staged filters at 3.5kHz and 60Hz, adjustable from +15dB to -15dB of gain. Each band can be independently changed between bell or step curves. The bell curves change the center frequency to operate at 5kHz and 200Hz, giving greater versatility to both controls.

A versatile one-knob channel compressor with features that deliver powerful and versatile performance from its surprisingly simple controls. A three-LED meter shows the amount of gain reduction applied. The circuit features automatic boost gain to maintain signal level for the full range of threshold settings.
