Beschrijving
The new Leslie 2101 mk2, like its predecessor, is a stand-alone unit.
There is no substitute for a real Leslie cab. With the 2101 mk2, Hammond offers a rotating cab that brings the Leslie sound within reach of every organist. The 2101 mk2 is relatively light at 23 kilos and can be carried and transported without any problems, unlike many other Leslie cabinets. In addition to its light weight, the 2101 mk2 also gives you the advantage of digital technology. This means you get numerous settings to easily change and save the rotor behaviour.
Leslie 2101 mk2: construction
The Leslie rotary cab was invented in the late 1930s by Donald J. Leslie. It generates a Doppler effect, which results in a sound that appears to change frequency. Like the vintage Leslie models, the 2101 mk2 offers separate high and low frequencies. The rotor horn handles the treble, while the bass is produced by a digital rotor. The horn is powered by a 50 watt amp and the 'stationary' speakers are powered by a 150 watt amp.
Connection possibilities
The 2101 mk2 can be connected to many different Hammond models. You can connect 8-pin or 11-pin Leslie cables. And thanks to the line inputs, it is also possible to connect instruments that do not have a Leslie output. Note that you can also send an instrument's signal only to the stationary channels and bypass the rotor system. The MIDI input and output allows you to send MIDI data from a Hammond organ or other MIDI-compatible device to the speaker. In short, with the speaker shown here, you get the lightest and most affordable rotary cabinet available for your Hammond organ.
Notes and tips on this product
Please note: Leslie cable and FS-9H pedal are not included.
