The active R1 MKII is a ribbon microphone offered by the Golden Age brand.
The R1 MKII is a high-quality ribbon microphone whose musicality in capturing instruments and voices will occupy a special place in your recordings. As such, it is the worthy heir of legendary microphones like the famous RCA 44 or 77 used so much in the 30s, 40s and 50s.
Like any passive ribbon microphone, it will give the best of itself through a preamplifier with a good gain reserve (Pre-73 MKIV or Pre-73 Premier).
Its use covers all registers, from voice to drums, from brass to guitar, in the studio or live.
