Overdrive/distortion/fuzz effectpedaal
The Queen Bee is a pedal offered by the Fulltone brand.
The Custom Shop Queen Bee is designed with 3 NOS Military "Flying Saucer" germanium transistors in a circuit that reacts like an amp, responding dynamically to the input signal generated by your guitar and your playing. It fades superbly by lowering the volume of your guitar, gives soft mids, clarity, sustain, harmonics... It's all there!
The first 2 transistors are configured to reach their maximum gain so as to arrive at the 3rd transistor with all their power, creating more sustain and saturation than a 2-transistor fuzz while generating low noise given its very high gain. The Queen Bee also has a lot of mids! Fender amp owners will appreciate the passive Treble low-pass control to reduce the highs, as well as the Bass selector to sculpt the low frequencies (before the 3rd transistor) while maintaining tight bass. This pedal has a very asymmetrical waveform pitch in the second order harmonics, culminating in a smooth, rich and dominant path with plenty of sustain. Inside is the Bias control to adjust the calibration of the 3rd transistor from 2 to 6 Volts DC. A slight change in position can drastically change the tone, volume and characteristics of the compression. Suddenly, you go from firm to soft, from bright to warm, from gritty to smooth.
The Queen Bee is true bypass thanks to the Fulltone-designed 3PDT footswitch for maximum signal integrity when the pedal is off. Because it uses germanium transistors, it must be powered only by a 9-volt battery or a regulated and inverted (center positive) power supply. The Fulltone Queen Bee is 100% handcrafted in the USA.
