Hand-wound by Josefina Campos, Fender Custom Shop's Master Pickup Winder who learned her craft from the legendary Abigail Ybarra, who herself learned to wind pickups from Leo Fender himself, each exemplary of FENDER Custom Shop Josefina Handwound '50/'51 Blackguard Telecaster Pickup Set has a unique quality that sets them apart from mass-produced versions. Her technique produces pickups that have added depth and articulation that you won't find anywhere else.
No Fender sound is more universally liked than the blackguard pickups. When played, you'll notice the biting power of the unbeveled Alnico III magnets in the bridge and the mellow sound from the Alnico V magnets in the neck. These pickups are made with 43-gauge Formvar, just like the originals. The Fender Josefina ’50/’51 hand-wound Telecaster pickups deliver the classic blackguard sound that tone chasers and vintage enthusiasts can't live without.
